Before renewing its vine culture, Château La Verriere was a glass factory. In 1981, Jean-Louis Descours bought this fantastic plot of land, 30 hectares of which is covered in vines. He decided to construct a cellar in order to make his own wine. With the help of his son, Gérard, his dream was fulfilled two years later. They met a craftsman by the name of Jean-Jacques Coll – a man passionate about vine culture – who put his talents at the disposal of the estate. Jean-Louis Descours runs this 60 hectare vineyard and has provided the necessary means to build the cellar of his dreams. Voted “Best Syrah in the World” and 16th “Best Red Wine in the World” in 2003
